The Empire Cup

Celebration of The Iconic Sports Racer

June 2nd and 3rd, 2017

Previously known as the Jag Club Event, since 1993 your chairmen have been running this successful event for the enjoyment of our fellow club members and friends. As in past years, we will enjoy two full days of open exhaust racing. This is the only VSCCA sponsored event at Lime Rock that is un-muffled. Racing groups will ultimately be determined by types of cars entered. There will be however a feature grid celebrating the Sports Racer.

Our Friday evening supper is the famous Texas Barbecue. Herb Wetanson is again subsidizing the event with his generous donation of this meal at the track. The paddock party / Friday night dinner will start about 6:15 / 6:30. …The Barbecue includes Ribs, Chicken, Corn bread and side dishes.. Hummel Brothers special hot dogs, or as we like to call them Hot Dog hors d’oeuvre is being donated again this year by John Schieding is donating.  The Supper is open to drivers, course marshals and crew.

Volunteers are needed to help with this gathering. As the dinner is sponsored by our good friend Herb Wetanson, donations in the form of wine, beer and sodas will be gratefully accepted. If you can’t bring a beverage to the dinner think of adding an extra donation to your entry fee to help offset the cost to the club. The club does have to pay for all of the extras at the dinner. We would like this dinner to be a social event. Meet your fellow drivers, corner marshals and friends to talk about the days racing.

Timing and scoring using Transponders is another feature of this event. Finishing position from the race before will be your grid position for the next race and the course marshals will be riding you accordingly each time out.

This is an open exhaust event,  and your car does not need to be muffled. As in past years, each group will get on the track multiple times each day so there should be plenty of track time. And this year, there will be a grid for Sports Racers.  Both VSCCA front engined and rear engine Sports Racers  are welcome.

Camping is available Thursday night and Friday night with bath and shower facilities on the grounds. The snack bar will be available for breakfast and lunch. Many of the best parties are at the track at night. Jaguar club does have a non race school which you can enter a spouse or older child or friend. Call Charles Bordin.

Please note that the $475 Early Bird Registration fee ends on May 23rd.

After the 23rd of May, the regular registration fee of $525 applies.

No cancellations after the 23rd of May unless due to extenuating family circumstances.
