A Vintage car enthusiast who supports the purposes and philosophy of the VSCCA,
reflected in the
O'Donnell Letter, would like to become a member should write,
requesting an application form to the secretary:
Anthony S. Carroll
VSCCA Secretary
170 Wetherhill Road
Garden City, NY 11530
**The new application form specifies the requirements for applying, which include a recommendation from
two People who has been a members for at least one year. If you do not know anyone in the club, you can
attend any of our events as a spectator* to get to know some of our members.
*or as a volunteer corner worker - please contact the event chair to volunteer (erh)
*Also VSCCA tours are open to non - VSCCA members and cars (erh)
** from a note on 11-17-10 - John Schieffelin -
And, oh yes, we are back to requiring 2 letters for new member applications.
I just wrote the following paragraph about that for my "Ponderings" page in
the next magazine:
You may ask, why can¹t new members join the VSCCA electronically? The answer
is that we are a Club composed of people who share a common interest, and so
that we are not misunderstood we require a prospective member to get two
letters of recommendation from members who know him/her and understand our
philosophy and purpose. A bit behind the times, but knowing people
face-to-face will never be outmoded.
